Lowell to celebrate first-ever Westville Day on October 25
On Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, the community of Lowell will come together for the first-ever Westville Day, a citywide event blending charitable giving, local history, and storytelling.
Themed after local author Ryder Jones’ supernatural thriller series “Westville” - a saga set in a fictionalized version of 1990s Lowell - this new community tradition combines the eerie, nostalgic spirit of the books with the heart of Lowell’s small-town generosity.
Held in partnership with Flat River Outreach Ministries (FROM), Alpha Care Center, and participating local businesses, the goal is simple: raise $25,000 for families in need, during the holiday season, through the Westville Fund.
Highlights include:
The Tour of Westville - a guided, immersive walk through Lowell’s history, reimagined through the eerie lens of the Westville novels. The tour blends true local lore with supernatural storytelling, offering both history buffs and fans of spooky season something unique.
Community business engagement - Many local shops and restaurants will be participating with specials and contributions toward the Westville Fund, and individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to donate, directly, on October 25.
Special launch event - The tour culminates in a book two launch party at New Union Brewery, featuring a Westville-themed burger from Fat Guys Food Truck and a special beer brewed just for the occasion.
Jones, who grew up in Lowell, notes: “At its heart, Westville is about facing both the real and metaphorical darkness in life , and coming out changed. This event is about our town doing the same, coming together to push back the dark for families who need it most.”
Tickets for the Tour of Westville are available now, with half of proceeds going directly to the Westville Fund. As a special thank-you to Lowell Chamber members, the promo code CHAMBER96 offers 10% off tickets.
