Bobby served in both the Army Air Core and the Air Force during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
W. JAMES SOWLE
A Navy veteran, he dedicated himself to various endeavors, including teaching at Forest Hills Public Schools, working at Design Underwriting, and owning Lowell Water Works Carwash.
ALFRED WARD MILLER
Upon his retirement, he did volunteer work for the Sheriff’s department and several non-profit organizations. Alfred enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, friends and serving in his church, First Baptist Church of Alto.
JUDITH EDDY
She graduated from Saranac High School class of 1956. She attended Day Bible Church, Saranac Community Church, and Lowell First Methodist Church. Judy operated Day Care and especially loved them all as her own.
DEAN E. COLLINS
Dean was Mayor of Lowell in Michigan, member of the YMCA Board, and a leader in the community.
HELENA LOU BEVANS
She is remembered for her full-of-life laughter. Helena could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She enjoyed spending time in her garden.
JERRY R. MANSZEWSKI
He liked camping and spent time each year attending the annual Operating Engineers Local 324 celebration. Jerry and his wife Sharron built a home together, establishing a foundation of love and cherished memories that continues to resonate with all who were welcomed there.
JEAN GETZEN
She found joy in every activity, from watching American Idol religiously to spending time in the garden to sailing on Lake Michigan to traversing the country in the motorhome. No adventure was too small or too grand. Jean always said, “The journey is the best part of the adventure.”
RICHARD “DICK” COOPER
Richard loved playing softball, tennis, polo and golf. He was very talented musically and could play the accordion, harmonica and especially the piano.
ANNE WILLIAMSON
Anne was a long-term member of Knapp Reformed Church. She enjoyed traveling internationally with family and friends. Anne spent her free time gardening, golfing, skiing, and entertaining her friends and family at her cottage at Silver Lake.
LORRAINE JUNE MATHEWS
She could play the piano by ear and had a lovely singing voice. She was a gifted artist who loved to draw and paint. Junie, more than anything, loved her Lord Jesus.
RAYMOND EDWARD BARLE JR.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S Air Force. He served his country for two tours during Vietnam. Ray earned 3 purple heart awards. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.
ELLA GRACE ASPINALL-MULDER
Ella was a long-time member of the Elmdale Church of the Nazarene. She was a hardworking farm girl. Ella enjoyed her time outdoors, tending to her garden or just watching the birds. Above all, she was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend who took good care of her loved ones.
TIMOTHY WARD NELSON
Tim’s relationship with Jesus Christ was an important part of his everyday life. He had a servant’s heart and was willing to help anyone. After moving to Colorado, he was an active member at Falcon Baptist Church.
PEGGY JO SERBENTA
She was an avid reader and enjoyed crosswords and dot to dot puzzles. She was a skilled cook and loved baking. Peggy was well known for her amazing banana bread.
CHRISTINE A. KEYES
Her love for life was evident in her passion for the outdoors, where she found joy in the simple pleasure of boat rides around Barlow Lake.
BARBARA ZANDSTRA
Barbara was in the class of 1968 at Lowell High School and later attended CMU. For 25 years, she worked for Dr. Lang, Dr. Gauthier, and Dr. Meier. Barbara found true joy spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
JOHN GRIFFIOEN JR.
John worked at Williams Furniture for over four decades, achieving top sales numerous years. He never complained and was ever the optimist and loved doting on his loving wife, Sue. He enjoyed fishing, golf, camping, joking, and having fun. John was an elder and taught catechism at several churches he attended.
RICHARD LEE WRIGHT
He was also an avid fisherman and spent many hours fishing on the flat river catching dinner for his family with his kids by his side. They spent hours fishing with him and loved it. He also loved to build and work with wood and was quite talented at it. Everything was always perfect and so beautiful when it was finished. Everyone loved his work.
