FOREMAN
Lester “Jay” Foreman, age 46, passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on July 29, 2025.
He is survived by his beloved partner, Amber Hoonhorst; his children, Kali Foreman, Luci Foreman, and Casper Hoonhorst; his parents, Lu Ann Oke and Lester Foreman; his aunt, Dee Hoendervanger; and his sassy cat, Taco. A graduate of Lowell High School, Jay worked for over 20 years at American Gas & Oil Co. He looked forward to Thursdays, when he played in a golf league with his lifelong friends. A devoted Detroit Lions fan, he and his father were proud season ticket holders - a passion he joyfully shared with his daughter Kali. Jay bonded with his daughter Luci through their shared love of video games and online community building, often adventuring together in games like World of Warcraft.
Known as the ultimate “girl dad,” Jay had an endless supply of dad jokes and a natural gift for making those around him laugh. He had a creative spirit in the kitchen, whipping up eccentric dishes for his family. He loved rainy days and was the family meteorologist, always warning the family when a storm was on the way. Jay will be remembered for his kindness, humor, authenticity, and unwavering love for his family. He was hardworking, a little silly, and never afraid to be himself. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. A Celebration of Life for Jay will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Lowell Moose Lodge, 1320 E. Main St., Lowell, MI 49331. This fundraiser is to help Jay’s family with immediate support as they begin to navigate life without him. Any amount helps and is deeply appreciated: https://gofund.me/bfde4c4a
