MCCORMICK
Laurie Lee McCormick, age 64, of Lowell, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2025, as the result of a car accident. A beautiful, kind, and generous soul, Laurie’s life was filled with love, music, sunshine, and a deep devotion to the people she held dear. Born on November 5, 1960, Laurie lived her life in Lowell, where she and her husband, Tim McCormick, raised their family. She worked her entire career at Amway in Ada before retiring and embracing her most joyful role: Grandma. Summers were her favorite season, and she filled them with family gatherings by the pool, beach days, music, and celebration. Laurie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tim McCormick; her sons Jim (Maria) McCormick and Andrew McCormick (Breana Erickson); and her beloved grandchildren Calvin, Adeline, and Silas McCormick, each of whom shared a special connection with her. She also leaves behind her mother and dad, Patricia and Richard Marvin; her siblings Joyi Deshano, John (Shawna) Opperman, and Jake (Tonya) Hagstrom; her mother-in-law Marlene McCormick; and siblings-in-law Patrick (Teresa) McCormick and Ann (Dan) Geelhoed. She was preceded in death by her brother Jeff Opperman and her father-in-law Patrick McCormick.
Laurie was also a proud and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Kelly, Patrick, Charlie, Jeff, Mike, John, Jessica, Zac, Trey, Brook, and their families. Laurie faced many health challenges in recent years and walked through those struggles with determination and grace. Her journey included periods of healing, growth, and remarkable progress. Through it all, her love for her family never wavered - she found deep joy in celebrating her sons’ careers and lives, and was endlessly proud of the people they’ve become. She had a generous heart, a welcoming spirit, and a talent for making others feel at home. The space Laurie filled in our lives cannot be replaced, only honored through the love she gave us. Her absence is felt in every quiet moment, in every place she once stood with love. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson St., Lowell, MI 49331. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, at noon, at Oakwood Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurie’s memory to Pink Arrow Pride (www.pinkarrowpride.com), a local community organization close to Laurie’s heart due to the impact of cancer on those she lo
