THEBO
Walter Kenneth Thebo, 69, of Lowell, Michigan, passed away on September 6, 2025, from complications related to his long-time battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Born on May 16, 1956, Walter was a man of strength, wisdom, and humor, who led his family with love and confidence. He began his career with the Michigan Department of Corrections, where he worked for seven years before pursuing his law degree. He later built a successful career as a Human Resources Manager at Lacks Enterprises, where his leadership and compassion for people made a lasting impact.
Outside of work, Walter had a passion for stock car racing and even took flight instruction, always eager for new challenges. He and his wife, Beth, shared a love for travel and adventure, exploring destinations across Europe, Australia, and South America. Whether on the racetrack, in the air, or discovering a new corner of the world, Walter embraced life with curiosity and courage. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, he took pride in being the head of his household, offering steady guidance, sound advice, and unwavering support for his family – especially when it came to encouraging his children’s dreams.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Elisabeth Thebo, his daughter, Skye (Matthew) Lemmen; his mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Anajayne and Roger Feller; and his siblings: Del (Pam) Thebo, Diana (the late Jack) Gaskill, Keith (Jackie) Thebo, and Ace (Amy) Thebo. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law: Bonnie Waterman, Becky Demorest, Brenda Demorest, and stepsister Melinda Feller; along with many nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish his laughter, stories, and wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his son, Derek Thebo; grandson, Dylan Thebo; parents, Delbert and Leona Thebo; brother, Kenny Thebo; and father-in-law, Don Demorest. Walter’s legacy will live on in the wisdom he shared, the humor he brought to every room, and the love he gave so freely to his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Impact Church in Lowell, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a service at noon. A luncheon will be held afterward.
