He worked at King Milling Company in Lowell for 43 years and worked his way up to Superintendent, of which he served for 15 years before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed hunting and boating and especially loved teaching his young relatives and friends to water ski.

For over 50 years, Dee and Charlie lived in Lowell actively participating in community events and raising four children. She made many lifelong friends in Lowell and Dee always exclaimed that she loved “Lowell’s friendly warmth” and the opportunity to befriend other fun women raising families. Dee and the other moms in town especially enjoyed watching their children compete at swimming meets at the Lowell YMCA pool during the summers.

One of his favorite activities included fishing at Blue Lake. Tom was an avid animal lover and enjoyed caring for the many outdoor cats that staked their claim on Tom’s property.
