NAUTA

Christian “Chris” Wade Nauta, age 49, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2025.

Born on October 17, 1975, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Mark and Becky (Robertson) Nauta. From a young age, Chris had a passion for adventure. Whether it was four-wheeling, snowmobiling, or even diving into a pool from the garage roof, he was always chasing the next thrill. Life with Chris was full of energy, he was constantly on the move. A natural storyteller with a magnetic personality, people were drawn to Chris’s warmth, quick wit, and endless supply of clever comebacks. He had a gift for making others laugh and feel at ease, and his good-natured spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Family meant everything to Chris.

He was deeply devoted to his parents and shared a special bond with them, attending church each week by their side with his daughter. Always willing to lend a hand, he took pride in helping collect tithes during service and making sure everyone was out on time. But above all, Chris’s greatest joy and deepest love was his daughter, Andi. She was the center of his universe, his pride, his heart, and his everything. In his eyes, she could do no wrong. Chris adored her with unwavering devotion, and there was no denying it, he was wrapped around her little finger, and he loved every minute of it. Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Andy Nauta; uncle, Jim Nauta, paternal grandparents, Paul and Geraldine Nauta; maternal grandparents, Alex and Sybil Robertson; and his beloved canine companions, Uno and Chet.

He is survived by his biggest blessing – daughter, Andi Grace Nauta; parents; sister, Carrie Parsons; brother, Nathan (Lois) Taylor; nieces and nephews, Brittnie, Danielle, Veronica, Steven, Kevin, Mason, Allison, Rebecca, Kodie; lifelong best friend, Todd Lyonnais; many aunts and uncles and numerous extended family and forever friends. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Old Time Methodist Church, 5590 Whitneyville Ave. SE, Alto, Michigan 49302,. Pastor Al Strouse officiated. In true Chris fashion, a luncheon followed. Memorial contributions can be directed to the church or to a charity of choice, in Chris’ honor.
