TIMMER
Charlene Rae Timmer, 77, of Quincy, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2025, surrounded by love. She is survived by her husband, Lansing, of 34 years; her daughter, Sara Guile; and her treasured grandchildren, Milo, Mason, Carson, Spencer; son-in-law, Brian Vanveelen. Charlene also leaves behind her brothers, Yale (Diane) Wentworth and Dan (Mary) Wentworth, who will remember her for her kindness, laughter, and love of sweets. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Rachell Vanveelen. Charlene earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching from Western Michigan University, fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming an educator.
She began her career in Newaygo, Michigan, where she taught for three years before choosing to dedicate herself fully to raising her two daughters as a stay-at-home mom. Later, she re-entered the workforce, spending several years with Amway, where she brought the same dedication, work ethic, and warmth that she shared in every aspect of her life. Char was an avid reader with a love for learning and imagination. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, decorating and taking care of her home, and creating a warm and welcoming space for all who visited.
Above all, she treasured spending time with those who meant the most to her, finding joy in the laughter, stories, and quiet moments they shared together. Her life was a reflection of her values - compassion, resilience, and a gift for making others feel truly seen. Whether sharing a meal, or offering a listening ear, Charlene brought comfort and light to all who knew her. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held to honor Charlene at Hop Hog, formally Big Boiler, in Lowell, Michigan on August 30, 2025, from 1- 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember her by spending time with those you love and care about most or donate to your favorite charity.
